Brussels, March 15, 2011 - Following the Tohoku earthquake which struck Northern Japan on Friday, March 11, 2011, and its tragic consequences RHJ International ("RHJI") expresses its deepest consideration and condolences to those affected and our sincere hopes for the earliest relief of the affected areas.

RHJI confirms that there are no reports of injuries to employees of its affiliated companies based in Japan.

The manufacturing facilities of Asahi Tec and Niles, including one facility located in the badly affected Fukushima prefecture, have not suffered structural damage. TMK, the subsidiary of Asahi Tec located in Nihonmatsu, Fukushima prefecture, is 55 kms from Fukushima No 1 Nuclear Plant and is impacted by electricity conservation efforts and power supply outages which have caused disruptions in the affected areas and elsewhere, as well as to customers and suppliers.

Phoenix Seagaia Resort, located on the South-East Pacific coast line of Japan, has not been directly affected by the earthquake.

Following RHJI's recent agreement to sell its 77.9% stake in Niles Co Ltd to Valeo, we continue to work towards closing the transaction in the first half of 2011.
