Mobile World Congress Shanghai, July 16, 2015 - Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO), the world leader in digital security, presents a demonstration that brings to life for the first time a common architecture for the remote provisioning of consumer devices as defined by the GSMA[1], operators and device manufacturers.
In a recent survey, E&Y projected that more than 7 billion devices[1] will be connected by 2020, with smartphones, PCs and tablets still expected to be the largest contributors[2]. This substantial growth in connected objects brings concerns about standardization and security. The Gemalto demonstration showcases how a primary device, like a smartphone, can be used to conveniently activate or deactivate connectivity on a secondary device, like a smartwatch or tablet, using mobile broadband or WiFi. This will give end users the flexibility to easily add new devices such as tablets and smartwatches to existing wireless service contracts. By adhering to profile interoperability, telecom operators and consumer electronics companies can benefit from easy deployment and a faster time to market.

Gemalto demonstreert remote provisioning van consumentenapparaten gebaseerd op GSMA-architectuur
Mobile World Congres Shanghai, 16 juli 2015 - Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO), de wereldleider in digitale beveiliging, geeft een demonstratie die voor het eerst een gemeenschappelijke configuratie voor het remote provisioning van consumentenapparaten, zoals vastgesteld door de GSMA[1]-exploitanten en fabrikanten van apparaten, mogelijk maakt.
Op basis van een recente enquête projecteerde E&Y dat tegen het jaar 2020 meer dan 7 miljard toestellen[1] verbonden zullen zijn, en dat smartphones, PC's en tabletten daar nog steeds het grootste deel van zullen uitmaken[2]. Deze aanzienlijke groei van verbonden toestellen brengt zorgen over standaardisatie en beveiliging met zich mee. De Gemalto-demonstratie toont aan hoe een primair toestel, zoals een smartphone, gebruikt kan worden om de verbinding op een secundair toestel, zoals een smartwatch of een tablet, gemakkelijk in of uit te schakelen via mobiele breedband of wifi. Dit zal de eindgebruiker de flexibiliteit geven om nieuwe toestellen, zoals tabletten en smartwatches, aan bestaande draadloze servicecontracten toe te voegen. Door zich aan de profiel-interoperabiliteit te houden, kunnen telecomoperatoren en producenten van consumentenelektronica genieten van een eenvoudige implementatie en een snellere marktintroductietijd.
