Scala Business Solutions today said that Lord Mechanical (Shanghai), Lord Chemical, and Lord International Trading (Shanghai) Co., subsidiaries of Lord Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of adhesive and chemical products, have signed an agreement to implement the latest version of the iScala® Collaborative ERP system in China.

Explaining why they selected iScala, Bob Gant, Director, Information Technology for Lord Corporation said: "We chose iScala because we wanted to standardize business processes across the region. As our head offices in USA are using SAP, we looked for a collaborative solution that could automatically link into a larger ERP system when needed and we wanted to improve the business data exchange between the three subsidiaries and our headquarters." He added: "iScala has a smooth interface with SAP and it caters for all our needs in terms of business functionality.

Lord had been using a local system for a couple of years but with the tremendous business growth in China, they needed to find a new ERP system that could cope with three operations with different products and business processes and that could grow with them as their strategy for China demand. After evaluating a range of ERP systems, Lord chose iScala.

Gant commented: "We feel comfortable to be with Scala because of their "Signature" implementation methodology, and their proven track record of successful implementations for over 300 customers in China. This is crucial for us to ensure a successful project."

"With the expanding business it is fundamental for us to set the right strategy from the beginning so we can streamline and simplify business processes across our three companies in China to optimize internal resources, share information, and maximize profitability," said David Siporin, Vice President for Lord Shared Services. "We choose Scala because of their global support competence and local experience of business management processes, especially in emerging markets like China." He added: "In a global corporation like ours it is imperative that iScala can give us sophisticated functionality to help us meet our client commitments efficiently and economically and to fulfill the goal of just-in-time, cost-effective, local production."

With more and more business-critical information residing outside the core ERP system it is important that businesses choose collaborative systems that can interact with the world around them. "No organization can work faster than its information flow and no organization can work better than its information quality," said Kevin Hurley, Senior Vice President of Scala Business Solutions Asia Pacific. "iScala is an excellent fit for companies like Lord who needs to automate processes and gain better data visibility across several organizations and applications. We are excited about helping Lord to optimize their business performance and improve customer satisfaction."
