emerging leaders in the development and marketing of lithium powered products worldwide, is pleased to announce that the U.S. Navy's Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Division of Commander, Navy Installations Command, has selected key locations for the delivery and testing of Hybrid produced lithium vehicles.
The vehicles will be piloted in the following areas:
1. Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla. A PT Cruiser will be used by the Navy Community Support Program staff in support of child development programs and the facility maintenance management team at this command.
2. Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Millington, Tenn. An ATV all-purpose working platform with a flatbed will be employed tosupport outdoor MWR sports facilities, a golf course, recreation vehicle parks, lakes, and other extensive facility/program support requirements.
3. Mid-Atlantic Region, Norfolk, Va. A light-weight pickup truck will support the regional Quality of Life (QOL) facility renovation team.
This team is extensively involved in the renovation, repair and construction of a broad range of differing facility environments and locations at this Navy fleet concentration area.
This project falls under the umbrella of the Commander, Navy Installations Command Community Support Program and is targeted to the examination and potential application of several types of alternative fuel vehicles.
Hybrid Technology, in an ongoing effort to support the U.S. government in its stance to provide feasible solutions to current oil prices and environmental issues, will be working with the Navy to determine a large-scale fleet replacement scenario.
The vehicles will be produced in Hybrid Technologies' Mooresville, N.C., facility using a fully rechargeable lithium ion system.
