Partnership Offers Powerful Solution for Enterprises Looking to Deploy Composite Business Applications Using SOA
PARIS and PALO ALTO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 25, 2006 -- Xcalia, a leading provider of dynamic integration software, and W4, a major European software vendor dedicated to business process management, today announced a technology agreement to integrate their complimentary products. Both companies agreed to launch the first release of the joint product to system integrators and developers by the end of the year.

The combined solution enables real-time data access and the ability for customers to easily define the context of their business processes and then compose them dynamically at the application runtime. The immediate benefit of this solution is a dramatic reduction of the integration and maintenance costs of a BPM solution in a service-oriented architecture.

The Xcalia Intermediation Core(TM) (XIC) provides unified, real-time access to heterogenous data and services to easily create composite applications. XIC sits between the data and business layer and uniquely maps the required data and service resources to the object model that represents the business. This capability lets W4 Business Process Management(TM) applications handle business services composed of mainframe data or Web services as easily as if they were coming from relational databases. In addition, the W4 BPM suite, thanks to its human-centric BPM functionalities, enables business objects generated by Xcalia to be orchestrated through workflow applications while guaranteeing the delivery and presentation of information in time to the appropriate user.

"I am glad that we could reach this agreement. Our technical alliance will allow us to deliver a global solution to our customers that have frequently been asking us for a way to architect data access methods based on their business process," said Laurent Henaut W4 President.

"The Xcalia-W4 partnership will provide enterprises with a solution for business owners and IT departments to collaborate through the integration of the business process with information and legacy systems, and easily integrate any new information or process requirements in the future," stated Pierre Violo Xcalia Chairman and CEO.
