VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 25, 2006 -- ROMARCO MINERALS INC. (TSX VENTURE: R) is pleased to announce that drilling is underway at its 100% owned Roberts Mountains Gold Project, located in the Cortez Trend of Nevada. The project is approximately six miles southeast of the Tonkin Springs Mine (U.S. Gold) and is immediately adjacent to the Gold Stone deposit, one of five deposits from which Atlas Precious metals produced gold.

The program will include 8,000 feet of reverse circulation drilling in approximately ten holes. The targets for the 2006 drill program are the contact zones (identified in the 2005 mapping program) which are known to host significant ore deposits in the trend. All ten holes will be drilled into these contact zones. The contact zones are:

1. The Devonian Devils Gate Limestone overlying the Devonian Denay Formation - which is the historic ore host in the district and is the equivalent unit to the ore-hosting zone at Placer Domes' Cortez Complex; and

2. The Devils Gate contact with the Mississippian Webb Formation which is the primary zone where gold is mined at the Rain (Newmont Mining) and Emigrant (Newmont Mining) Mines.

The 2005 soil sampling program demonstrated strong gold values along the contacts. (See map on Romarco's website: www.romarco.com).

The results included a 0.030 ppm gold contour value that outlined a zone over 3000 feet long (northwest-southeast) and up to 1750 feet wide. Significant multipoint anomalies within this broad gold zone are up to 600 feet long and over 350 feet wide incorporating as many as nine samples greater than 0.100 ppm gold with values up to 0.600 ppm gold. Surface rock samples within this broad soil anomaly returned up to 1.35 ppm (0.04 oz Au/ton) gold. This sampling strongly coincides with the northwest-southeast trending Devils Gate-Webb contact.

Project level mapping was also completed by Romarco to better define the extensive alteration. Alteration present includes jasperoid along the contact between the Devonian Devils Gate and the Mississippian Webb, decalcification of the limestone, and barite matrix breccias and veining. Structurally controlled dolomitization and breccia development are similar to alteration recently described in the Rain-type deposits. The attached figure shows the strong correlation between the mapped geology and the anomalous soil geochemical results. The map can be seen in color on Romarco's website www.romarco.com.

Mr. Buster Hunsaker is Romarco's Qualified Person on the Roberts Mountains Project. Romarco has contracted Lang Exploratory Drilling (a division of Boart Longyear Company) to perform the drilling, and the program is being supervised by Dr. Tommy Thompson, Romarco's V.P. Exploration who is also a Qualified Person pursuant to NI 43-101.
