CHEVY CHASE, MD -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 15, 2006 -- The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun is set to reopen to guests September 27, 2006, following an extensive renovation after Hurricane Wilma. While retaining the authenticity of the resort's original ambiance and style, the $15 million renewal introduces new lavish service features and one-of-a-kind facilities to further enhance the guest experience.

The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun returns with an upgraded Kayantá Spa that introduces new services and treatments along with an expanded Fitness Center. Casitas, a seaside restaurant featuring 16 private cabanas will offer guests first class pampering and privacy.

The new $250,000 Culinary Center with Viking Range equipment is the perfect setting for celebrated chefs to conduct comprehensive interactive cooking classes. The Culinary Center offers two educational and entertaining cooking classes, plus one Tequila or wine tasting six days per week. Themed classes, including Spa Cuisine, Real Mexican, a Grilling Feast, Tuscan Dinner Party and Treasures from the Sea, cover three to five recipes. Guests can savor their own creations, paired with wine, in the inspiring residential-style kitchen overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

All 365 guestrooms, public areas, recreational and meeting facilities have been refreshed and enhanced to offer today's discerning traveler a seaside retreat from their active lifestyle. Gourmet coffee machines, 400-thread count linens and rainforest showerheads were added to all rooms. The resort increased the number of connecting rooms from 36 to 47 while all suites were equipped with 32-inch LCD flat screen televisions to create more convenient accommodations for families.

The Lobby Lounge was transformed into a casually elegant setting, offering an array of dining and entertainment experiences. The Ceviche Bar features a light selection of ceviches and sashimis. At The Dance Floor, guests can listen to live music every evening. The Terrace is the ideal spot for tropical cocktails with a view. Clau offers a fashionable setting to unwind with a cool martini.

The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun also includes the addition of the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center, the newest premier sporting facility. Created in partnership with Drysdale, one of the top 50 tennis players ever, the center provides year-round programs for the traveling tennis enthusiast. Services range from private lessons and corporate events to round robin tournaments and international exhibitions.

The Destination
