May 11 (Bloomberg) -- Telefonica SA, Europe’s second-largest phone company, made an unsolicited bid to buy out its Portuguese partner for 5.7 billion euros ($7.3 billion) in a venture that controls Vivo Participacoes SA, Brazil’s top wireless carrier. The offer, rebuffed by Portugal Telecom SGPS SA, values Vivo Participacoes at about 140 percent higher than its market capitalization. Portugal Telecom’s board unanimously rejected the bid because the Brazilian carrier is core to its strategy, the Lisbon-based phone company said on its website.

At the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held in Rotterdam on 14 April 2010, shareholders voted in favour of the dividend proposal to distribute € 0.49 per ordinary share (US$ 0.67 per ordinary share converted at the ECB reference exchange rate of 14 April 2010).Shareholders were able to choose between payment of the dividend in cash or in stock. For the optional stock dividend the conversion ratio has been determined using the volume weighted average share price from 3 May 2010 to 7 May 2010 of € 14.0053. May 11 (Bloomberg) -- Inventories at U.S. wholesalers rose for a third month in March, and sales climbed even more, a signal companies will need to step up orders to try to meet demand. The 0.4 percent gain in the value of stockpiles followed a 0.6 percent increase the prior month, the Commerce Department said today in Washington. Sales gained 2.4 percent, the most since November. The amount of goods on hand compared to sales dropped to the lowest level on record, indicating factories will need to keep increasing production. A report later this week is projected to show purchases at retailers climbed again in April, pointing to a rebound in consumer spending.

In de analisten bijeenkomst zei CTAc dat de vraag in het 1e kwartaal beter was dan de eerdere verwachtingen. Toen ging CTAc nog uit van een stroef 1e kwartaal en misschien doorlopend in het tweede kwartaal.
Aan de hand van die uitspraak verwachten wij betere cijfers dan het 4e kw. 2009.
Toen kreeg Ctac 60 medewerkers van 2 klant thuis en zet die gelijk maar eens weer aan het werkt. Daar was CTAc in het 1e kw. 2010 redelijk in geslaagd, toen waren alweer 44 medewerkers bij klanten aan het werk.
Morgen zullen we zien wat dat heeft opgeleverd.

Heineken issues $725 million 8-year U.S. Private Placement
Amsterdam, 11 May 2010 - Heineken N.V. announced today that it has successfully placed an 8-year Private Placement loan with institutional investors in the United States for a principal amount of $725 million with a fixed coupon of 4.6%. The start date of the loan is 13 August 2010 when the principal amount will be funded. The maturity date is 15 August 2018. J.P. Morgan placed the loan on behalf of Heineken. The loan further improves Heineken's debt maturity profile and will be used for general corporate purposes. Heineken has already swapped the proceeds into €559 million with a weighted-average fixed coupon of 3.9%.
