Wie volgt hem op en welke stroming(en) komt er? Zijn alle burgers gelijkwaardig voor de nieuwe Regeringsleiders?
Welke economie komt er? Vragen blijven er nu en hopelijk spoedige invulling ervan.
Markten in het Midden Oosten zullen vandaag moeten laten zien wat zij ervan vinden, hopelijk keert de rust weder en elders ook in de Afrikaanse landen. Ze steken elkaar aan, maar geeft wel aan, dat er meer vrijheid (lees democratie) moet komen. De Europese beurzen liepen afgelopen vrijdag al wat vooruit. Achter de schermen werd al hard gewerkt, dat liet de passieve houding van het Egyptische leger al zien. Traden niet meer op!
Is wereldvrede wel mogelijk?
Beleggers in Egypte vrezen dat het er de eerste tijd voor beleggers niet duidelijk is welk regime en koers er in Egypte gevaren zal gaan worden.
Nog meer beleggers in grondstoffen, zoals 't edelmetaal?

De Banken zijn in Egypte vandaag weer open, over de beurs is nog onzekerheid.

Feb. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Egypt halted natural-gas exports through a pipeline feeding Israel and Jordan today after a fire at the facility, Egypt’s Oil Ministry said. The state-run Middle East News Agency said the stoppage was to limit damage caused by an explosion carried out by “subversive elements,” while the Oil Ministry said a gas leak led to a fire. Official Egyptian television reported that the incident in El Arish in the northern Sinai desert was an act of “terror” carried out by “foreign hands.” There were no casualties and the fire is under control, the Oil Ministry said in a statement. Flames and smoke billowed into the sky in the area of the pipeline, footage from the Al Arabiya network showed.

Feb. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Bank of America Corp., the largest U.S. lender by assets, agreed to pay $410 million to settle lawsuits alleging deceptive practices in the management of customer accounts that led to excessive fees for overdrafts. The settlement was dated Jan. 27, according to a court filing by Bank of America and lawyers for consumers. Overdraft class actions, unified in 2009 from across the country in Miami federal court, alleged breach of contract, unjust enrichment and usury by more than two dozen banks. Institutions including Citigroup Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Wells Fargo & Co. were named in related lawsuits.

BOSTON/PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - The boards of Genzyme Corp and Sanofi-Aventis SA are scheduled to meet on Sunday to discuss Sanofi's proposed acquisition of Genzyme, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Regeringen klagen steeds over de kosten van de ouderen, onbetaalbaar etc. en nu de babyboomers die er aan komen.
Handen in het haar. Maar is dat wel terecht??

Hoe absurd het argument is dat massale immigratie nodig zou zijn om onze economie draaiend te houden, wordt bewezen door berekening van de nettokosten van die immigratie. Elsevier kwam vorig jaar op een voorzichtige schatting van ruim 216 miljard euro tot nu toe. En het instituut Nijfer becijferde de kosten op 7,2 miljard euro per jaar (7.200.000.000 !). Zonder deze enorme uitgaven zouden rigoureuze bezuinigingen die thans vooral de zorg, de ouderen, het onderwijs, onze defensie, kunst en de zwakkeren in ons land pijnlijk treffen, wellicht niet nodig zijn geweest.

Dan horen wij 't eens van een ander!!
Onze regering vergeet dat de Babyboomers een vrij gezonde generatie is, die voldoende geld heeft om de economie redelijk te kunnen laten draaien.
Ook bedrijven hebben nog te kort oog voor de aankomende generatie.

Werkeloosheid.
In Nederland zal door het met pensioen gaan van deze generatie, de werkeloosheid ook gaan verminderen. Teveel zorgen over de werkeloosheid zal geleidelijk ook kunnen verminderen, maar dan moet ook de toestroom van immigratie verminderen. Anders rijzen de kosten nog meer de pan uit.

Olie versus Waterstof
SAN FRANCISCO (AFN) - De Japanse automaker Toyota wil in samenwerking met Shell een eerste waterstoftankstation in de VS openen in de buurt van zijn Amerikaanse hoofdkantoor in zuid-Californië. Dat heeft Bob Carter, de Amerikaanse marketingmanager van Toyota, gezegd in de marge van een bijeenkomst van de Amerikaanse auto-industrie. Toyota verwacht in 2015 in de VS de eerste auto's aangedreven door waterstofcellen te verkopen.
Verder zei Carter dat het bedrijf meer doet om klanten over de streep te trekken om een Toyota aan te schaffen. Zo worden leningen verschaft zonder rente te rekenen. Door financiële prikkels wordt de aanschaf van een auto voor de klant voordeliger, over het algemeen kost het de fabrikant winst of marge.

Feb. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Sanofi-Aventis SA and Genzyme Corp. are likely to approve a takeover of the U.S. biotechnology company today and are discussing a price of about $74 a share plus potential additional payments tied to the performance of a Genzyme drug, said four people with knowledge of the plan.

Reuters) - Ireland has received a first tranche of 3.6 billion euros ($4.9 billion) from the euro zone rescue fund, slightly more than the initial amount agreed, a fund source told Reuters on Sunday. The effective lending cost to Ireland was 5.9 percent, the source added. The European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) raised 5 billion euros from a debut sale of five-year bonds late last month. The funds are to be used to help finance the 85 billion euro EU/IMF bailout of Ireland, which followed Greece last year in seeking a rescue to cope with the huge losses of its banking sector. "As part of the EU/IMF financial support package agreed for Ireland, EFSF transferred 3.6 billion to the Republic of Ireland," an EFSF source said, adding: "Due to the successful issue, the amount transferred to Ireland was higher than the minimum 3.3 billion agreed."

Reuters) - British can maker Rexam (REX.L) has appointed Barclays Capital to sell its beverage and specialties arm in a deal that could be worth 200 million pounds ($322.2 million), the Mail on Sunday reported. Final bids for the business, which makes lids for drink and food containers, are expected next week, the Mail said. The paper quoted a Rexam spokesman as saying that the company was considering options for the unit. Rexam could not immediately be reached.

Tropical Cyclone Yasi ripped through northern Queensland, a region growing a third of the country’s cane, cutting output potential in the area by about 50 percent, producers group Canegrowers said Feb. 4. The storm, which the government says may have wiped out at least A$500 million ($507 million) of agricultural production, raised speculation that the world’s third-largest sugar exporter may struggle to match last year’s output that was the lowest in two decades.

Feb. 6 (Bloomberg) -- South African inflation may reach the upper end of the central bank’s 3 percent to 6 percent target range “sooner than expected” as oil and food prices increase, Governor Gill Marcus said. While there is limited scope for the bank to cut its benchmark interest rate further, raising the rate may undermine the economy’s recovery, Marcus said in a speech on Feb. 4 in Pretoria, according to a written copy on the bank’s website.

LONDEN (AFN) - Topman Bob Diamond van de Britse bank Barclays kan over 2010 een bonus krijgen van 9 miljoen pond sterling (10,7 miljoen euro). Dat meldden de Britse krant The Sunday Times en zakenkrant The Wall Street Journal zondag.
Diamond leidt Barclays sinds 1 januari vorig jaar. Daarvoor leidde hij de zakenbank-activiteiten. Vorig jaar onthield Diamond zich vanwege de discussie rond de hoge bonussen voor bankiers nog van een bonus.
