Reuters) - European Goldfields Ltd (EGU.TO) said on Sunday that it had agreed to be bought by Eldorado Gold Corp (ELD.TO) for about C$2.5 billion ($2.4 billion). The deal represents a 48.4 percent premium based on both companies' closing share prices on Toronto's main stock index as of December 5, the last trading day before European Goldfields said it had received preliminary approaches from third parties. European Goldfields shareholders will be offered 0.85 Eldorado share and C$0.0001 in cash for each European Goldfields share they own. The exchange ratio represents a value of C$13.08 per share based on the closing stock price of Eldorado on the TSX on December 16 of C$15.39.

Reuters) - French media and telecoms group Vivendi has reached a final deal with the controlling owner of Poland's broadcaster TVN SA on a long-term partnership that will include combining their Polish pay-TV operations, a source said. Vivendi and ITI Group, which had earlier hoped to sell its 56-percent stake in TVN, signed a preliminary deal in November, under which the French company was to take an indirect stake in the broadcaster and could raise it at a later date. ITI picked Vivendi's offer over Time Warner, which already has a stake another TV group in Eastern Europe, Central-European Media Enterprises. "The groups (Vivendi and ITI) have signed an agreement," the source close to the transaction said. He did not provide the details of the final deal.

Ahold update terugkoop aandelen
Amsterdam, 19 december 2011 - Ahold heeft in de periode van 12 tot en met 16 december 2.870.733 van haar gewone aandelen teruggekocht. De aandelen werden teruggekocht voor een gemiddelde prijs van € 9,7152 per aandeel voor een totaalbedrag van € 27,89 miljoen, in het kader van het programma voor de terugkoop van € 1 miljard aan aandelen dat Ahold op 3 maart 2011 bekendmaakte.
Tot op heden zijn in totaal 79.094.269 gewone aandelen teruggekocht voor een totaalbedrag van € 714,02 miljoen.

Fairstar Heavy Transport N.V. (FAIR) has been awarded a contract by Northern Offshore to transport the jack-up drilling rig ENERGY EXERTER from Malta to Northern Europe in January 2012. The Fairstar open stern, semi-submersible vessel FJELL is expected to load the ENERGY EXERTER in early January and sail immediately afterwards towards a Northern European port to be determined at a later date by Northern Offshore. The contract value is USD 2.8million.

Reuters) - Explorer Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP.L) is not in talks with U.S. oil major Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) about a 7 billion pounds ($10.9 billion) bid, a source familiar with the Kurdistan-focused group's thinking said on Monday. The Independent on Sunday newspaper reported that Exxon was considering making an estimated 800 pence per share bid - five times Gulf Keystone's closing share price on Friday. The report, which drove Gulf Keystone's shares up as much as 24 percent on Monday, said the company's board had discussed Exxon's interest a fortnight ago. But a source familiar with Gulf Keystone's thinking said there were no talks with Exxon. "If they had been in discussions, they would have had to have made an announcement," the source said.
