Strategic Alliance With IT Security Training and Solutions Brings VeriSign's Managed Security Solutions to Middle Eastern Enterprises
RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 04, 2007 -- VeriSign (NASDAQ: VRSN), the leading provider of digital infrastructure for the networked world, today announced a strategic alliance with IT Security Training and Solutions, or I(TS)2, the Middle East's premier provider of integrated security solutions and education, to establish a new Security Operations Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As part of the alliance, the companies will bring VeriSign's Managed Security Services (MSS) to enterprises in the Middle East, where companies are increasingly seeking solutions that help them manage and protect against IT security threats. I(TS)2 will operate the new Security Operations Center (SOC), which will be located in Riyadh, using the VeriSign platform to offer a wide range of security and threat management services. Crucially, the facility will be the first commercial SOC in the region to store its clients' sensitive data locally.

When the SOC is operational at the beginning of 2008, VeriSign will be the world's only major MSS provider to deliver services administered and supported locally in Saudi Arabia, with I(TS)2 its exclusive Saudi Global Security Partner. MSS offerings through the new SOC in Riyadh will include:

-- 24x7 management and monitoring of firewalls, logs, intrusion
detection systems, and Intrusion Prevention Systems
-- Vulnerability management, scanning, and assessment services
-- Phishing detection and response services
-- iDefense® security intelligence services

The new SOC will base its primary service offerings on VeriSign's proprietary information management architecture, which analyzes and prioritizes alerts derived from industry benchmarks and client requirements. Global teams identify, verify and track vulnerabilities, malicious code, and global threats, providing unique insight into the evolution of security risks and early discovery of software vulnerabilities.

"Today, VeriSign is extending the global reach of its renowned SOC network via an exciting new partnership with I(TS)2, the premier provider of end-to-end security solutions in Saudi Arabia," said Neil Batstone, General Manager, Middle East at VeriSign. "No company better understands the IT security threats that face enterprises in the region -- and no company has a finer track record in protecting those organizations -- than I(TS)2. We are delighted to collaborate with I(TS)2 to establish this new facility in Riyadh to deliver the most comprehensive set of managed security services in the Middle East."

"VeriSign operates a digital infrastructure that enables and protects billions of interactions every day across the world's voice and data networks," said Samer Omar, General Manager, I(TS)2. "This uniquely positions VeriSign as the ideal partner for I(TS)2 as we seek to provide Saudi enterprises with world-class defenses against IT security threats. By combining the strengths of our joint security expertise, the Riyadh SOC will set a new standard for managed security services in the Middle East."

The new facility in Saudi Arabia will be the ninth VeriSign SOC worldwide, and the first located in the Middle East. From its global network of SOCs, VeriSign security experts work around the clock to monitor security threats and manage thousands of devices.

VeriSign's entry into the Middle East MSS market follows positive recognition in other regions around the world. Most recently, VeriSign earned a "Positive" rating in Gartner, Inc.'s "MarketScope for Managed Security Services in Europe, 2007"(1) report.
